PB&A was retained by RCCJV (Skanska-Traylor) to provide the design for the Shoring of Excavation (SOE) for two of the stations at the LA Metro Regional Connector Project, 2nd and Hope Street and 2nd and Broadway. The Hope Station, when finished, will serve as one of the stations along a subterranean rail tunnel connecting the Blue, Gold and Expo lines. Having provided the Shoring Design for the Blue Line that went through downtown Pasadena, and the Boyle Station on the Gold Line, PB&A’s prior experience with both the Metro officials and the LABOE served our client well on this newest Metro Project.
The excavation has reached the bottom at an approximate 100 feet in depth, and the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) has broken through at the Hope Station excavation.
